One Action

Neil November 9th, 2007

The One Action believes inspiration is greater than choice.

The One Action believes expression flows from within your image, not applied from without.

The One Action provides invigorating training materials for you to develop your vision within Photoshop.

One Photoshop action is all you need.

The One Action may not be something you’ve never done before, but what you might need is to stop tying to find how your image should look in a list – and instead look inside yourself to find your image. Your image will guide you to achieve any effect along the spectrum of toning and manipulating as an organic growth from your workflow process. The LAB color space work flow will put the tools at your fingertips to form it into your best expression.

Buy Photoshop Action Steps for complete Workflow in my shopping cart.

The One Action set contains:

  • One Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw preset
  • One Photoshop action file containing the action and the work flow steps
  • Training video for implementing your vision within the action’s steps. View all training videos….

Get more ergonomic keys…

The ONE Action is setup to allow you full access to 90% of the necessary imaging tools using the seven function keys. If you keep these keys within your left hand’s reach, it makes the workflow smooth as you don’t have to look down to the keyboard. Your left hand deserves an ergonomically designed resting place. I suggest the Nostromo n52 Game Pad for a customizable hand rest button puncher:Plain and cheap Nostromo N52 ($40), and the Fancy Light-up Nostromo N52 ($70)or explore some other left hand pad options.

Buy the ONE ACTION LIGHTSPEED package now

There is also X Keys – but I don’t recommend you spend that much money cause there’s too many buttons. The Lightspeed package with keyboard shortcuts for Lightroom and Photoshop is $290 whereas the equivalent products such as DQ QuiKeys are $750 and RPG Keys are $590.  With the speedup you’ll gain in your workflow + the savings you’re managing with this simple solution you’ll recoup your investment in two days.

The difference between the ONE ACTION system an the others is that it’s simple enough to learn in a day.

One tiny script

The AutoLoader script costs $50 and will save you that within the first hour you use it.

The ONE action puts the power in your hands, but you need something else to bring the images to your hands – AutoLoader is it. AutoLoader will load a list of files for you to work on one at a time, allowing you to open and edit consecutively without overloading Photoshop’s memory buffer while you’re workin. Priceless!

    Neil,
I came across your site in just a simple search for Photoshop tutorials. I am working on some invitations for a friend for their soon to be wedding. I was looking for text tutorials and to learn many other things dealing with Photoshop. I very much enjoyed that you used scripture in your web page and Tao and the music is beautiful. In my spare time and as a personal project, I am doing my best and would like to recreate images and explanations on the entire biblical book of Revelation. My Pastor has done a thorough study into every aspect of this book as well as another author I am reading and trust as a valued and respected source. I was wondering if you would be able to offer any insight as to what to study and work on for this project…..or even if you would like to or have the time to assist or provide me with pointers. This has been a goal of mine for quite some time and want to do my best to make it real, come alive, and explained. Thanks for your time and I very much enjoy you site. I signed up for your newsletter and bookmarked your page.

I was wondering if I could see a before and after for the LightRoom preset you include with this action. The majority of my editing is in LR…

The basic ‘ONE’ preset doesn’t alter the image expression much from the in-camera settings. If you’re looking for a Lightroom Specific workflow package, you want the LightSpeed set with the keypad, without the ONE ACTION. The ONE ACTION is for fine art expression in the image – for which Lightroom still is not as accurate as Photoshop. The ONE ACTION helps you finish an image with localized adjustments and expression beyond Lightroom. The LIGHTSPEED workflow however gives you a smooth and ergonomic interface with Lightroom that will help you access the expressive potential within the images faster and more naturally than is otherwise possible.
