Here’s the exact unit I purchased from Home Depot, even though they don’t have it on their site. This unit I saw on Amazon, might be easier to not have to do any wiring, and you would be able to leave it in any outlet or be able to separate your outlets further! Heath Zenith Wireless Kit with Indoor Plug-In Receiver, White, and Remote Control, Black #RH-6008-WH5-A Either way you’re only out $35 for a gadget that will allow you to control the light output from your camera position and during shooting without moving.Here’s the link to the video on Cutframe.tv

I’m using standard halogen work lights ($10 at any hardware store), and a Lowel Pro light focusable spot light.

Here’s a lovely snippit from Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show – the track is Mark Brown – The Journey Continues Dub Mix which was finally released on Amazon! I heard it on the drive back from NYC’s Photo+ on Julie’s Sirius satelite radio.

Have you decided on the artist for your trigger? I’m also considering some tracks from LAGQ – The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet – on their Labryth album they cover everything from Led Zeppelin to Appalachian folk

What kind of music puts you in THE ZONE?

I find that the best type of music to edit photos to is something that has a strong rhythm, here’s one from KCRW’s Today’s Top Tune podcast. It seems that tunes where the melody carry both the rhythm and the tune strike a particular chord with my brain.

I haven’t yet chosen a song for my ZONE trigger, but I have a couple records that I’d pull from. The composer Yann Tiersen who’s music was featured in the film Amelie.

I enjoyed the interview of Grey Scott.

“I made the mistake of starting down the wrong path, I started as a photographer to earn money…..doing something I loved…..and was excellent at……but I didn’t find a vision, or a voice on that path. “Take a couple days off and sit down and re-focus with my art books.” is what Gray states in his interview….and it’s taken me a couple years to slow down enough to focus.Respected as an artist, went from last to first in his list of priorities from when he first arrived in New York to this interview.

Josh Waitzkin is interviewed/answers questions on Talk of the Nation about learning deaply and truely – I’m going to read this book as Motorcyle Maintenance was a favorite of mine in college. I have always been a quality based learner to the frustration of my teachers and the poor grades that disinterest can produce. I hope that I can teach to this sensibility of quality in the Make Light Real photography workshops.
